This Nightmare Kills Fascists - A Comics Anthology

Created by Eric Palicki

A horror comics anthology in the tradition of Creepy and Eerie, reflecting on world politics in 2017, as told by some of today's top talents. This Nightmare Kills Fascists is a 176-page black and white horror comics anthology filled with stories reflecting on the state of international politics in 2017. Editors Matt Miner and Eric Palicki envisioned a collection of stories giving contributors a chance to interpret the unease surrounding the current state of the world through the dark lens of horror.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

First Look at the Exclusive Bookplate Art! New Rewards!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jul 11, 2017 at 09:06:13 PM

Following up on Matt's earlier update (and sorry to spam you with two updates in one day), we've added a number of new rewards to the campaign, including creator-specific bundles from artist Eric Zawadzki (The Dregs) and writer Dave Ebersole (Dash).

For comics creators, we've lowered the pledge level on the script reviews, all of which still include a 30 minute Skype session to discuss your script, and we've added professional lettering packages from your choice of two different pro letterers, Cardinal Rae and Taylor Esposito, both of whom have done work for Image Comics and DC. These lettering tiers are offered at a significant discount over normal pro lettering rates and include copies of TNKF.

We've also added a tier to score the one-of-a-kind original art from our limited (100 copies) bookplate, which we're pleased to reveal here:

The illustration comes from Jonathan Brandon Sawyer, whose previous work includes Running Blood, We(l)come Back, Critical Hit, and most recently, GWAR: Orgasmageddon

The finished bookplate will be dressed with the traditional 'Ex Libris' and hand numbered 1-100, but we *just* received JBS' art and were too excited not to share it with you.

Bookplate editions of This Nightmare Kills Fascists will be autographed by at least ten contributors to the book. You can add as signed/numbered bookplate to any physical reward tier for $25; simply message us about the change.

Thanks! You guys are amazing!

Tales from the Gutter
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jul 07, 2017 at 01:16:39 PM

Hey, guys!

Thanks for your continued support of the project. We're rounding into the final stretch and we still have some ground to make up, so please, please keep sharing the project wherever you can on social media. I sincerely believe in the work we're doing and as work continues to roll in from artists like Soo Lee, Don Cardenas, and Eric Zawadzki (did you see that page of Eric's I posted earlier this week!?), well, it's heartening to see the rest of our collaborators feel the same way.

On the topic of collaborators, I wanted to take just a moment to point you in the direction of my good friend-in-comics Rich Douek's campaign to produce continuing adventures in the world of Gutter Magic, the Tales from the Gutter anthology. You can find the campaign right here. This project might be of particular interest to TNKF backers, as Tales from the Gutter is produced in partnership with The Comics Experience, and several of our own writers and artist are Creator's Workshop alumni. Also, stellar artist/good guy/well-bearded gentleman Kelly Williams is producing art for both campaigns. (You can *ahem* snag a Kelly Williams commission right here as part of the TNKF campaign.)

Thanks again, guys.

Creator Announcements! Art Revealed!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 05, 2017 at 07:27:49 PM

CREATOR ANNOUNCEMENT!

Matt and I are pleased to welcome previously unannounced creators Ryan Cady and Phillip Sevy to our ranks. Ryan just wrapped up a stint co-writing Top Cow's Magdalena with fellow TNKF contributors Tini Howard and Christian Dibari. Ryan's also done work for Archie, penning the Big Moose one-shot, and he's writing the upcoming adaptation of the Warframe video game, again with Top Cow.

Phillip's work includes art duties on The Tithe for Top Cow, as well as the self-published Kickstarter hit Paradox and a long run on Tomb Raider. Phil has also donated his time to this campaign in the form of limited custom sketches which are available as rewards to backers at the $100 level.

We're thrilled Ryan and Phillip have agreed to come onboard.

ART!

Here is a preview page of Eric Zawadzki's collaboration with Vita Ayala. Eric just finished work on Black Mask Studios' acclaimed The Dregs, which you're all encouraged to check out.
